Make Way for Bitch, Sat. Sept. 29 at Tritone
Tritone’s Sugartown series continues to heat up queer night life with queer dance party Fuse and assorted GLBT artistes.
Saturday, Sept. 29, Fuse brings Bitch into the house. Formerly of the duo Bitch & Animal, Bitch is on the rampage once again, armed with her electric violin, a ukelele, and a bass guitar. A force to be reckoned with, Bitch is ready with songs from her debut solo CD , Make This / Break This. She’s also made her acting debut just about a year ago in John Cameron Mitchell’s Shortbus, and her artistic fearlessness extends to the wrenching mix of personal and political showcased in her lyrics, and to her minimalist style. She’s traveled with The Indigo Girls and had her music featured on The L Word.
Also performing: Fuse DJs, who provide space for women to perform and party, including transmen and transwomen; Steph Hayes from the band Good Problems, whose music Jim Reed of Connect Savannah calls "an androgynous take on Ryan Adams’ studied cool;" and LotSix, a Philadelphia-based musician, songwriter, and multimedia artists whose novel act is a form of "self-karaoke," as she sings live to her own pre-recorded music, with projected images and lyrics creating a visually musical component to her show. Her stuff has been called smart, danceable, and queer-tinged.
