A Tall, Cool Drink of...Skinny, Sexy Cocktails
Yes, we know: "skinny cocktails" has to be one of the world’s most hopeful oxymorons. As if we all don’t know that the only real skinny cocktail is water. But since denial is everything when dealing with drinks, why not pretend that a cocktail is going to make you skinny, smart, and fabulous?
Don’t get us wrong; water is nice. Perfect for the pool and the shower. And yes, we enjoy drinking water - on occasion.
But on those nights when we’re feeling completely hydrated, what we want is something more than an H2O kick. And we’re not talking about a taurine-based energy drink that leaves you banging a soda machine. No, we want something that tastes better than bile. Something with no preservatives or artificial flavors. Something natural. Something real.
In case you have yet to notice, there’s a whole new generation of energy drinks - fueled by all-natural ingredients. 28Black and 28White are the first all-natural beverages powered by the açaí berry. You know, the Brazilian superfood from the açaí palm that grows in the Amazonian rainforest. The berry that can make you young again, dissolve any love handles, grow you a full head of hair, lift your ass, and whiten your teeth - all at the same time. All right, so some of those claims have yet to be proven - but we are here to tell you that 28Black and 28White, when mixed with vodka, rum, gin, or tequila (separately or all at once - your call) is all but certain to make you feel whatever you want to feel.
Introduced in Germany in 2008, 28Black comes in a slinky, matte black can. Score two points for design. A can as skinny as you’ll feel when drinking 28White, which has zero calories. Listen, if the Germans with their love of Oktoberfest can make a skinny beverage successful, then you know there has to be something to it.
The next time you’re invited for cocktails, consider arriving with something other than a bottle of bubbly. How about an even dozen of these lightly-carbonated beverages - six in black, six in white - and then a bottle of Voli vodka? Voli, the skinny vodka.
Yes, we know: another oxymoron. But seriously, Voli is the first low calorie vodka, with up to 40% fewer calories than major brands. Voli’s French wheat vodkas are blended in Cognac, France with natural fruit flavors such as lemon, orange vanilla, pear vanilla, raspberry cocoa, and espresso vanilla - resulting in a drink that is a perfect fusion of light and delicious. Furthermore, at only 80 carbs a serving, you almost feel like you’re losing weight while drinking.
"Stay sexy" is Voli’s tagline, while 28Black contends that "The day has 28 hours." The way we figure it, you mix these two together - and you have four extra hours of sex. And we have no problem with that.
Here are a few of our favorite ways to mix it up with these two - so we can sex it up later.
1 1/4 oz. lyte Voli vodka
1 1/4 oz. violet syrup
2 lime wedges
1 orange slice
1 can 28Black or 28White
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the orange slice and serve.

3 1/4 oz. bitter lemon
1 lemon slice
3 1/4 oz. 28Black or 28White
Pour vodka into a long drink glass filled with ice cubes. Fill with 28Black and bitter lemon. Garnish with lemon slice.
